Colorful Chameleons
Written by Adrian
Did you know chameleons don`t live in groups? They live alone. Even though I know colorful chameleons more than anyone, I like to share information with people. Chameleons live in rainforests, deserts, and mountains, they have legendary adaptations, and eat crummy and crunchy insects.
To begin, with chameleons habitats of the rainforest, they live in tall trees full of vines. The leaves are thick thread that can be an umbrella. When branches brake, the sound is smaller than something pocket sized when you put it in your pocket. The rivers are streams of fish. It`s shelter is as solid as a bolder.
Additionally, chameleons have legendary adaptations to help it survive. One adaptation is that chameleons can move their eyes in different directions (or different ways.) They can also color change to blend in with their habitat (or their home). The last adaptation is that their tongue goes 13 miles per hour or 21 kilometers long.
In the end, chameleons are carnivores, so they eat crunchy and gross insects. They’re prey to birds, snakes, and for baby spiders! They are predators to insects or bugs. They eat flies, gnats, and butterflies. They also chew their prey.
Clearly, the ocean animal sea otters are great, but the land animal chameleons are more fantastic. Their habitat is descriptive, the adaptations are legendary, and the foods are crunchy. If you are doing a research project, then try the chameleon and you might like it!
That is wonderful information Adrian! I never realized that chameleons are carnivores! Can chameleons eat anything larger than an insect? My neice once had a pet chameleon, and he was awesome! I hope you get the chance to have a pet chamelon too!
